In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.

Storm Lake is joining the Nationwide Day of Defiance on June 14th, and standing up to say "NO KINGS IN AMERICA". We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it.

June 14th 1-3 pm At the Intersection of Lake Ave and Lakeshore Dr (near the Storm Lake sign) We will spread out toward Chautauqua and Sunset Park as needed. THIS IS A PEACEFUL PROTEST

June 14th is the celebration of the 250th birthday of the US Army, which the army has been planning for over a year. WE SUPPORT THE ARMY! Thank you to all service members in all of our armed forces, past and present! It was only once Trump was elected to office and pressured the Army to add a parade on the 14th that a parade was added. The DC military parade IS the birthday parade Donald Trump has always wanted, and tax payers are paying for it at the same time his "Big Beautiful Bill" takes medical care and food assistance AWAY from Americans and increases our national deficit 10% every year for the next ten years. Additionally, this administration has violated judges' orders, putting our country into a constitutional crisis. They are even attempting to remove funding for judges in the previously mentioned budget bill, passed by the House of Representatives. They are doing this so judges cannot enforce a contempt of court order if this administration violates anymore court orders. Our beloved Representative Democracy is under threat. This is beyond politics. THIS. IS. NOT. OKAY.

June 14th is also Flag Day, so consider bringing US flags! The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us.
Also bring: signs, water, sunscreen and most importantly, friends/family!! This event is kid-friendly.
