      The President’s War Powers: What You Need to Know Right Now

      He has now led the nation into war with Iran—an action he may initiate unilaterally for 30 days—aligning the United States with escalating violence rather than diplomacy, without meaningful debate, transparency, or regard for public opinion.

      This moment demands that we understand the War Powers Resolution of 1973—a law meant to limit exactly this kind of unchecked presidential action. But does it really work?

      What Is the War Powers Resolution?

      The War Powers Resolution (or War Powers Act) was passed to prevent presidents from dragging the country into war without Congress’s consent. It requires the President to notify Congress within 48 hours of sending troops into conflict.

      Once troops are deployed, the President can only keep them there for 60 days without Congress’s approval. After that, the troops must come home unless Congress authorizes continued military action.

      Why Isn’t This Law Enough?

      In theory, the War Powers Act should protect democracy by ensuring elected representatives decide on war. In practice, presidents from both parties have sidestepped or challenged it.

      They delay notifications, use vague language, or claim Commander-in-Chief authority to bypass Congress. Meanwhile, Congress often fails to assert its power.

      The result? The President can effectively wage war—like with Iran—without meaningful public debate or approval.

      What Are the Real Risks When War Powers Are Enacted?

      Killing Off the Poor to Replace Them with Controllable Pawns

      Let’s stop pretending this is about life.
      This administration — and the extremist forces backing it — are doing something far more sinister. They are killing off the poor to replace them with controllable pawns. They’re not just banning abortion. They are criminalizing struggle, punishing resistance, and building a future where only the obedient get to survive.

      Forced Birth Is Not About Babies — It’s About Power

      They want us to believe this is about morality or faith. But look closer.

      They ban abortion even in cases of rape or threat to the mother.
      They target doctors, threaten helpers, and encourage neighbors to snitch.
      They defund social programs, starve communities, and block healthcare.

      Then they turn around and say, “Why aren’t women having more children?”

      The truth is, they don’t want healthy families — they want desperate bodies. People with no choice but to serve, produce, and obey. This isn’t about a population crisis. It’s about control.

      The Poor Are Disposable. The Obedient Are Profitable.

      Let’s say it plainly:
      They are killing off the poor to replace them with controllable pawns.

      Not all that long ago, I posted an open letter to our Senators, Grassley and Ernst.

      I would like to share with you, my responses.

      Let me tell you…they were both surprises.

      Joni Endst, really surprised me, because at the time, I thought maybe we could still get through to her.

      My thoughts are important? REEEAAAALLY, now? Perhaps she will really read the letter fully and give an actual response. But for now, I feel brushed off…as most Iowans do.

      HOLY IOWA COWS!

      Now here’s my huge surprise. My response from Chuck Grassley (Yes, I used his real name here and not my nickname for him, because he (or his team) was respectful here.)

      I feel that this wasn’t a blanket response. I feel that my letter was actually read. Perhaps because it’s displayed publicly on a site.

      Thank you Senator Chuck Grassley, for your response. I admit, I have been particularly hard on you and your grandson in the past because of frustrations with policies.

      I’d prefer calling you by your real name and not my nickname for you, please keep the rest of us in mind, before taking an ax to our healthcare and other needs. Otherwise, I will be honest with you, I will call you “Assley” again.

      Please note: He added links to help. I may differ with him A LOT. I have for many years. But I truly appreciate this olive branch he sent.

      Mistaken?

      I realize some people are going to give me grief for my appreciation that my letter was read and given answers and help listed.

      I wasn’t a Democrat until Trump’s first term. I had been Independent since I was 18 and got my first voter registration card.

      I don’t choose based on party…NORMALLY.

      But these aren’t normal times.

      Yes, I am pushing for Dems in the upcoming elections in 2026. We need to stop the damage and begin healing. This cannot be achieved with Drumpf sycophants in line to stomp on it.

      I may end up being Dem for life after this, who knows.

      But I will always acknowledge when a politician responds in a proper way and I will certainly amplify ten-fold if they acknowledge in a poor way.

      So here is my ask.

      From this time on, let’s refer to Joni, who wishes all the lower income brackets dead, without realizing that she won’t have the money or the poor people to prop herself on and take money from…

      Right now, we are so close to the “magic number”—that 3.5% of the population actively participating in protest, which history shows is often enough to drive real systemic change. We can taste it. But why stop there?

      At 5%, we don’t just demand change—we make it inevitable.

      Steps towards Martial Law

      We’re Standing One Step Away from Martial Law

      I’m not going to sugarcoat this. We’re already standing on the last rung of the ladder. The only thing left is for this administration to say the words. Martial law doesn’t arrive with fireworks or an official parade—it slips in while people are distracted, while the narrative shifts just enough to justify “extraordinary measures.”

      Let’s be real: every warning sign has lit up. The unrest has been labeled “insurrection,” the National Guard has been primed, the military is showing up where the people are, not where the danger is. Civil liberties? Hanging by a thread. We’ve watched curfews tighten, speech be criminalized, and protest painted as terror. The pattern is not subtle – it’s historical, it’s procedural, and it’s happening now.

      You don’t need to wonder anymore if “we’re heading toward” martial law. We’re here. All that’s left is the formal declaration – and it doesn’t need to come with fanfare to be real. If you wait for it to be announced on TV, you’re already too late.

      The steps and the actions that lead up to martial law:

      To Everyone Attending the NO KINGS Protests This Weekend — Please Read This

      Hey friends,

      I need to say this, not because I want to scare anyone — but because I care too much not to.

      This weekend’s protest on June 14 — yes, his birthday — lines up with something deeply disturbing. It also happens to be the Army’s birthday. That’s not a coincidence. That’s an opportunity, and I’m afraid the administration sees it that way too.

      I believe they are preparing to use this weekend’s NO KINGS protests as a trigger point. I’m talking about activated MAGA crowds showing up to bait, escalate, provoke. I’m talking about potential embedded agitators — or even federal forces in disguise — trying to turn peaceful protest into chaos on camera. Why? Because it would give them cover. Cover to escalate. To clamp down. Even to declare martial law.

      It sounds dramatic. But when nothing else has been done through proper, lawful channels — we need to be clear-eyed about what’s possible. This NO KINGS weekend may be staged – not negatively by us, but for MAGA to appear and disrupt.

      And that’s why I’m begging you: be safe. Be alert. Be unshakeably peaceful. Your safety is the most important thing. We need you here for the long haul. And they know that, too.

      On June 14th, Donald Trump will celebrate another year — and we want to mark the occasion with a present he won’t be able to ignore.

      We’ve rewritten the Declaration of Independence for modern times. In it, we name the former president not as a leader, but as the would-be tyrant he continues to prove himself to be. With truth as our guide and democracy as our cause, we are calling out the long train of abuses — and standing together to say never again.

      This modern declaration will be published on our website as an open and permanent record of resistance. But we don’t want to sign it alone.

      I didn’t feel like using your title, because I suspect you won’t have it very long. Not if we have anything to do about it.

      You prided yourself on slaughtering pigs and have now shown Iowans you aren’t above slaughtering them.

You stood by him and his cabinet while ignoring their records of sexual abuse and unfitness. You waved them through, even when women begged for accountability.

      You constantly side against what would be for the greater good of your gender. When it comes to reproductive rights, when it comes to health care, when it comes to access to birth control, when it comes to standing up to men who harm women – you fail. And you fail loudly, with your vote and rude, hateful, condescending ways you speak to your constituents.

      You have solidified in many minds, the countdown to your own demise/death. We’ll settle for you not popping up your too-ugly body shape to be a Trump pick face up again for any political leadership role.

      You are a vulture.
