SUUNDAY! SUUNDAY! SUUNDAY!

🗓️ What to Expect This Sunday
Rescue Our Democracy — May 4th Community Protest
First off — thank you for being here. Just showing up makes a difference.
This isn’t your typical protest. This is about us — the people who care, who are tired of shouting into the void, and who want something more real than another livestream or speech from a podium. We’re here to talk to each other and to build something that lasts.
🧭 Why We’re Here
Rescue Our Democracy (ROD) was born out of the belief that change happens when we build community. We’re not here to follow a script — we’re here to make space for conversation, connection, and action. Our goal? Help change how people vote, one real relationship at a time. To amplify other movements to effect real change in our government.
We’re also creating something new: a protest that also restores us, fuels us, and gives us joy and laughter too — because those things are radical acts in themselves.
🕒 Here’s What to Expect:
- Welcome + Introduction
A quick hello from ROD founder Judy T. and a few words about the purpose behind today’s gathering. - Chant Leading
Nothing long or complicated — just a few calls to get our voices raised and energy shared. You can find a copy of them here. We might not do them all, but just in case, a good Jedi should be prepared. - Connect + Converse
This isn’t about lining up behind a speaker — it’s about finding each other. You’ll be encouraged to talk in pairs or small groups:- Why did you come today?
- What issues matter most to you? Why?
- What’s one change you want to see before November?
- What’s one change you can affect things now?
- How do you feel that you can help each other?
- Do you feel you can help ROD with volunteering?
- A Little Bit of Fun
Got a lightsaber? Great! Bring the Force. Expect a few light-hearted moments throughout the day — some laughter, maybe a playful battle or two, and a reminder that joy and resistance can coexist. - Groundwork for What’s Next
Learn how to stay connected with ROD and be part of more sit-ins, community protests, and action-oriented gatherings that help shape local voter awareness.
💡 Bring:
- Water, snacks, and anything you need to stay comfy
- A chair, blanket, and your signs
- Your sense of humor and open mind
- A friend — or make some new ones
This is where real democracy starts — with conversations. Let’s build something better, together.
In solidarity,
Judy T.
